What are the advantages of using a Trufit custom made mouth guard?
A custom made mouth guard made specifically for your mouth will fit comfortably and offer the best protection for your smile with real impact absorption. A properly fitted mouth guard can help prevent broken teeth and injuries to the lips, tongue, face or jaw. It will stay in place while you are wearing it, making it easy for you to talk and breath.
In what sports should I wear a mouth guard?
Anytime there is a strong chance for contact with other participants or hard surfaces, it is advisable to wear a mouth guard. Players who participate in league, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, rugby, and martial arts should strongly consider wearing a mouth guard.
Why don’t kids wear mouth guards?
Parents are sometimes uninformed about the level of contact and potential for serious dental injuries involved with sports in which the child participates. Some, though not all schools, reinforce the health advantage of mouth guards for their contact sports.
Other types of mouth guards?
Boil and bite mouth guards: The lowest cost option is a shop bought mouth guard, which offers the least protection because the fit adjustment is limited. It may interfere with speech and breathing because this mouth guard requires that the jaw be closed to hold it in place. A shop brought mouth guard is not considered acceptable as a facial protective device.
Custom made mouth guards: Dental custom made mouth guard by your local dentist, or Trufit, is by far the best quality and protection for your mouth. Dental injuries can be painful, disfiguring and expensive to treat. Dental injuries may result in time off work or school to recover, and lengthy (and expensive) dental treatment. A mouth guard, custom-fitted and worn every time you play or train, will give you maximum protection against dental injuries.
Simple and easy procedure
The impression material is mixed and then placed in the impression tray, then placed in the mouth to set, this takes approximately 2 minutes, after this the mouth guard can be made up from the individuals impression.
Due to the amount of changes going on in a childs mouth Trufit recommends that children should be over the age of 8.
